At Davidson of Dundee, we’ve had the pleasure of welcoming school groups, homeschool families and special-needs groups to our candy factory in Dundee, Florida, over the years. Students, parents, teachers and chaperones have all had the opportunity to see a little piece of Florida history—and learn how some of our Florida citrus candies and specialties are made.

See a Florida Candy Factory in Action

Davidson of Dundee has been making Florida citrus specialties in Dundee since 1967.

A visit gives students an opportunity to experience something they don’t see every day: a real working Florida candy factory.

Rather than simply reading about how products are made and packaged, students can see firsthand some of the people, equipment and processes involved in turning ingredients into finished products.

It’s a fun way to introduce conversations about food production, manufacturing, Florida agriculture, small business and entrepreneurship.

A Great Field Trip for Homeschool Groups

We especially enjoy welcoming homeschool groups and co-ops.

Factory visits can complement lessons about Florida history, agriculture, manufacturing and business while giving students an opportunity to learn outside the classroom.

Parents and siblings can join the experience as well, making Davidson of Dundee a fun stop for homeschool families throughout Central Florida.

School & Student Groups Are Welcome

Teachers and school administrators looking for something different from a traditional field trip are also encouraged to contact us.

We’ve hosted student tours over the years and enjoy showing young visitors what happens inside a working candy factory.

Students get to experience a longstanding Florida business while learning that products they see on store shelves have a whole story behind them—from ingredients and production to packaging and distribution.
